Google: Always Blocking

you or the website

googleblock

There are alternatives to Google, that don’t block your search. There are alternatives that use Google but don’t give away your identity.

Don’t be fooled, blocking is not about protecting your kids, it’s about limiting your financial/political choices for profit:

Google will stop blocking when they start losing advertising money

usnews.com: The company (Google) maintains at least nine different blacklists that impact our lives, generally without input or authority from any outside advisory group, industry association or government agency. Google is not the only company suppressing content on the internet. Reddit has frequently been accused of banning postings on specific topics, and a recent report suggests that Facebook has been deleting conservative news stories from its newsfeed, a practice that might have a significant effect on public opinion – even on voting. Google, though, is currently the biggest bully on the block.

of course we’re evil — how Google is killing the Internet by stealth

wallofcontroversy.wordpress.com: “Something has happened with Google across the board that affects left-wing media in a big way,” said Scott LaMorte, a web developer for both Truthout and The Real News.

“This is absolutely an aberration. It’s a three-year low for both Truthout and The Real News, and likely unprecedented in the life of these organizations. Neither have previously experienced three straight months of declines as they have since May.”

“It’s not like everybody on the left suddenly changed their SEO [Search engine optimization],” LaMorte said. “I don’t think it was a change in Google’s algorithm in how they value SEO practices.” […]

“This is political censorship of the worst sort; it’s just an excuse to suppress political viewpoints,” said Robert Epstein, a former editor in chief of Psychology Today and noted expert on Google.

Epstein said that at this point, the question was whether the WSWS had been flagged specifically by human evaluators employed by the search giant, or whether those evaluators had influenced the Google Search engine to demote left-wing sites. “What you don’t know is whether this was the human evaluators who are demoting you, or whether it was the new algorithm they are training,” Epstein said. 1

On July 31st, World Socialist Web Site reporter, Andre Damon, spoke with RT America’s Natasha Sweatte about how and why Google is now directly targeting progressive websites:

Warning – visiting this web site may harm your computer!

Ever tried to access a website only to find you can’t get in – probably Google’s blocking you. The above warnings are often meaningless and you probably will not get blocked if they don’t know who you are. On more than one occasion I’ve been blocked from my own website. If you want to safeguard your privacy while using search engines, the solution is anonymous search engines or non-tracking search engines. There are alternatives to Google that don’t block your search. There are alternatives that use Google but don’t give away your identity.:

Recommended: VPN
An inexpensive method to block-out the blockers and snoopers is VPN (virtual private network) . They know you are there but they don’t know who you are. A VPN router can be purchased cheaply; my monthly costs  are £5. 95 and it can be used to protect all your computers, your mobile WiFi and your smart TV. Just plug into your broadband hub and change the Wifi settings and passwords on your computers…voila! it’s that simple.

Finally, don’t forget to shut off the filters and child locks in your browser – Safe strict search – turn it off  – Moderate search – turn it off –  Don’t filter – leave it on. You may need to do this every time you brows the web. These things are part of your system and need to be controlled by you. You may be pleasantly surprised by the results.

And finally, keep away from Google.
